In addition to appellate and supervisory jurisdiction, a high court has administrative control and other powers over subordinate courts, including:

  1. Consultation with the governor for appointment, posting, and promotion of district judges and appointments to state judicial service (other than district judges).
  2. Dealing with posting, promotion, leave, transfers, and discipline of members of the state judicial service (other than district judges).
  3. Withdrawing cases pending in a subordinate court if they involve a substantial question of law requiring Constitution interpretation.
  4. Its law is binding on all subordinate courts within its territorial jurisdiction.
