The court hierarchy established included District Diwani Adalats and District Fauzadari Adalats at the lowest level. Sadar Diwani Adalat and Sadar Nizamat Adalat (at Murshidabad) were appellate authorities. The Supreme Court established in Calcutta provided a legal check on the company.
