29. What are the two-fold functions of the Vice-President

The functions of the Vice-President are:

1. He/she acts as the ex-officio Chairman of Rajya Sabha.
2. He/she acts as President when a vacancy occurs in the office of the President or when the sitting President is unable to discharge his/her functions.
