26. What are the other powers and functions of the Chief Minister

In addition, the Chief Minister also performs the following functions:

1. He/she is the chairman of the State Planning Board.
2. He/she acts as a vice-chairman of the concerned zonal council by rotation for one year.
3. He/she is a member of the Inter-State Council and the Governing Council of NITI Aayog.
4. He/she is the chief spokesman of the state government.
5. He/she is the crisis manager-in-chief at the political level during emergencies.
6. As a leader of the state, he/she meets various sections of people and receives memoranda regarding their problems.
7. He/she is the leader of the party in power.
8. He/she is the political head of the services.
